Rise and Shine Project
(Proyecto Levantate y Resplandece)
This is a heart project that launched me into my God-given assignment of helping people heal. This project started in October 2018. I was inspired by the way my mother lived her life and walked her journey being generous, kind, and caring for others. When she passed away in 2016, amidst the grief and pain of her premature death, I decided to continue her legacy by helping people “Rise and Shine” from whatever circumstances they were in. I believe that “your current circumstances do not determine your future.” My parents and their siblings were a true testament of that, given that they had been raised in extreme poverty where they did not have shoes and clothing and food where limited, they had to work as children, and struggled to succeed.
My two sisters and I also had to “rise and shine out of difficult situations and poverty. We had to immigrate to the U.S. due to the Salvadoran Civil war and had to make a way out of poverty.
Since 2018, I visit El Salvador on a yearly basis and speak at different arenas that influence education, medical field, government, arts, business, etc. and address children and adults on “Rising and Shining” above their current circumstances. Inviting them on a journey of faith, hope, and tenacity. We have been able to partner up with different organizations including the U.S. Embassy, United Nations, universities, the military, and government agencies.
We provide emotional tools to forgive, heal, and restore because we know that is the key to having healthy families and community. Through conferences, speaking engagements, small groups, and one-on-one sessions, we help people break through difficulty situations.
The goal is to help people heal emotionally and spiritually in order to live better lives, change and impact their family, their communities and their country. If we can “reach” one person at a time and help them get “unstuck and healthy,” that person will set little fires that will help others around them and thus impact the generations to come.
